Dizziness and Vertigo

​​​Vertigo can feel like the room is spinning or your balance is off.
In some cases, this is linked to dysfunction in the upper neck.

 

Common symptoms

• Sensation of spinning or dizziness

• Loss of balance or unsteadiness

• Symptoms triggered by head movement

• Associated neck stiffness or discomfort

 

What can cause vertigo 

• Dysfunction in the upper cervical spine

• Altered joint position sense (proprioception)

• Muscle tension affecting head and neck control

 

How we approach treatment

• Assess upper neck movement and control

• Restore joint function where restricted

• Reduce muscle tension contributing to symptoms

 

Important note

Not all vertigo originates from the neck.
If your symptoms indicate another cause, appropriate referral will be recommended.
